La Villasse Cotes du Rhone Rosé 2010 Rhone
Tasting Notes:
The 2010 is medium pink in colour with fresh notes of strawberry, raspberry and peach on the nose. The palate is refreshing and fruit-driven, with juicy red berries and primary stone fruits. The finish is long and mouthwatering, it is dry but with the faintest hint of sweetness lingering at the end.

The name La Villasse refers to an ancient Roman site close by to the vineyards, where vines have been grown since Roman times. The grapes are taken from the Cairanne appellation, known for its fantastic quality potential, but from soils which are heavier in clay, giving more forward, earlier drinking wines that are therefore classified as Côtes du Rhône. La Villasse is made from traditional Rhône varieties, and handled very gently, with little intervention, allowing the fruit to speak for itself. The red was fermented in stainless steel, with no oak used, which has allowed the primary aromas and purity of fruit shine through. The wine was packaged in screwcap, to capture the freshness and fruit purity.
