Available in cases of 12 only. Chenin Blanc is the principle white variety at Coriole produced since the first vineyard was planted at Coriole in 1977. The 2009 vintage has produced a wonderful round, clean fruited and delicate style that shows how well this variety is suited to the McLaren Vale district. The '09 Chenin displays tropical fruits, pear and peach aromas. The palate is round and full showing nashi pear, hazelnut and a touch of spice. A well balanced wine that finishes with the varietal's trade mark zingy acidity.

McLaren Vale ranks as one of the world's oldest wine growing areas, successfully retaining its phylloxera-free status. Coriole was established there by Hugh and Molly Lloyd in 1967, and achieved recognition rapidly, winning the coveted Wine Bushing King and Queen title in both 1974 and 1975 for making the best Shiraz in McLaren Vale. Mark Lloyd, Hugh and Molly's second son and ace rock'n'roller, has been running the winery for 20 years now and his younger brother, Paul, became business manager in 1993.
