Hollick Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2008 Cooonawarra

Tasting Notes:
Available in cases of 12 only Appearance: Bright ruby red with purple hues at the rim. Aromas: Cabernet Sauvignon aromas of blackcurrants and mulberries are complimented by the softer Merlot notes of violets, plums and dark chocolate. Flavours: A seamless and complex Coonawarra Cabernet Merlot blend showing blackberry, cassis, choc mint, and plums with finely integrated oak. The finish is long with a soft texture and silky tannin structure.

In 1998 Hollick expanded north of Coonawarra by developing the 24 ha Red Ridge vineyard at Wrattonbully on a prime outcrop of terra rossa soil which includes trial plantings of Tempranillo and Sangiovese. 2007 saw Hollick celebrate their 25th Anniversary. It was also the year that Ian's daughters Mel and Kate joined 'the firm'. The appropriately named restaurant 'Upstairs at Hollick' is the first winery restaurant in Coonawarra and has been a tremendous success with panoramic views of the vineyards and more intimately into their barrel store.
