Hollick Shiraz Cabernet 2006 Coonawarra

Tasting Notes:
Available in cases of 12 only Appearance: Intense deep red/purple with crimson hues Aromas: Fruit aromas of dark plums and black cherries are enhanced by hints of mint, spice, chocolate and eucalypt. Flavours: Juicy berries and ripe plum flavours abound, with prunes, mulberry and delicate cedar notes also evident. Rich and generous with supple tannins and a long, full finish. This wine is well suited to red meats with robust sauces or mature cheeses.

In 1998 Hollick expanded north of Coonawarra by developing the 24 ha Red Ridge vineyard at Wrattonbully on a prime outcrop of terra rossa soil which includes trial plantings of Tempranillo and Sangiovese. 2007 saw Hollick celebrate their 25th Anniversary. It was also the year that Ian's daughters Mel and Kate joined 'the firm'. The appropriately named restaurant 'Upstairs at Hollick' is the first winery restaurant in Coonawarra and has been a tremendous success with panoramic views of the vineyards and more intimately into their barrel store.
